After the success of “Firing Cheeseballs at a Dog” last year, Greg Davies set a high standard for this show and touring bigger venues. The structure of the show was good, focusing on the definition of normality, or not as the case may be and there were plenty of anecdotal examples featuring his long suffering family members and friends. All the material fitted into this heading and there was good cohesion among them. I would say on structure, it has matured and developed since his last show. Davies is still a natural performer and the timing and energy of his delivery was pretty good. His improvisational style works well and convincing. However, the materials themselves were a little underwhelming. The jokes were quite funny but nothing hilarious. Nonetheless, it was a competent and polished performance.
