Anyone for breakfast

A farce filled with mistaken identities and infidelities tells the story of a wife who is meeting a young friend from squash for dinner and a husband who brought his mistress home while his wife is out for the evening. And all parties concerned and their respective spouses eventually ended up in the four bedroom house. The play itself is serviceable with just enough mischief to carry the plot along. The main problem is the pace which seems to be deliberately slowed down as if it is an English lesson, even for an English theatre in Germany. The slapstick is overly exaggerated and worse of all is the German stewardess whose unidentifiable foreign accent is jarring, given the possibility of finding someone with something more convincing, locally perhaps. Though overall, it has a certain charm that does not complete ruin the experience. Plenty to improve on.
