Originally showcased as a short piece at Theatre Delicatessen’s Bush Bazaar in August 2012, this immersive dance piece by Wilderness is given a full show to realise its potential. Through a combination of choreography and dialogue, it tells a selection of short stories of Tennessee Williams. And the audience is guided through a series of lovingly realised and atmospheric spaces in the ex BBC building.
There are moments when the text and choreography combine and create something quite special, but most of the time it feels the production could be better off as a straight play or as a purely physical theatre piece. And with the audience spread around the edges of the room and dominates the sight-line wherever you look, it can be quite distracting. Nevertheless, this production has some well executed elements with a good set design and dedicated work from the actors.
