In the intimate studio space of the Pleasance Theatre, Frank Skinner tries out his material on his latest stand up show. Given the actual show is on in three days time, this is not far from what the show will be like. Skinner explores being middle aged, his habit of suit wearing and the joy of Haiku. Another is the subject of fame, or the level of Skinner’s fame to be precise, explored in a charming, modest and amiable manner. He is so at ease on stage and while acknowledging the purpose of the evening, his material, links and delivery still has a fluidity to it like a seasoned pro he is. It is a great pleasure to be part of this cosy evening and despite the somewhat eclectic crowd, the upcoming show should be a treat for anyone who managed to get a ticket for it.
