This is a meta-comedy show where the Australian comedian claimed to be managed by an Australian comedian group to be trained as “cheer-jerkers” and decided to put on a difficult show where there will be no laugh. The story featured an assortment of characters including a medieval monk and a modern New York cop and are all played by O’Docherty with gusto and energy. The comedy comes in as she losses the thread of the story whilst the mix of multimedia screen, props and sound cues kept going. It was a well thought out show with a great structure. However, her convincing awkwardness and the lack of laugh out loud material makes it a slightly uncomfortable viewing. It doesn’t let the audience truly relax and settle in which makes it slightly disappointing.
