This immersive hour walk around of Aldeburgh centre created by Punchdrunk for the Aldeburgh music festival centres on Benjamin Britten’s Peter Grimms. The walk takes the audience back in time through recorded audio through a headset and visiting various locations, may it be the street, the beach and some very Punchdrunkesqe furnished set. It’s a mix of Aldeburgh town history, the Peter Grimms story and music and some rather disturbing scenes where actors are dotted around looking slightly menacing and at the same time act as guides to point you back onto the right path. It is a little disjointed and I had some real trouble matching the prescribed footstep but there are some powerful imagery, especially the final scene in the reeds, windy and drizzling with rain.
